For upwards of 50 years, Alfred Richard created a wide variety of quality tools. After five decades, A. Richard wanted to sell his business to the Panfili and Gregoire families. They fully commited to carrying on a family-run business operation. In 1942, the A. Richard Company transferred to Berthierville.



A third-generation group of the Panfili and Gregoire families took over in 1997 from the elder generations. A. Richard joined Hyde Tools, Inc. in 2003 after retaining more than 85% of the Canadian hand tool sector.

A. RICHARD Expands

In 2006, A. Richard purchased Roultech, a paint brush and roller producer and distributor. Both businesses created a capable team that combined marketing and development by A. Richard with Roultech’s expertise to successfully handle the applicator market.
By 2006, A. Richard took control of a roller and paintbrush manufacturer and distributor called Roultech. This was a beneficial venture as both companies brought expertise in production and marketing to secure the paint application industry. The company now generates over 1200 items and is sold in fourteen countries.
